the Artist
Imre Szekely is a
Hungarian born Canadian graphic artist, residing in Victoria,
British Columbia, Canada. He came to Canada in 1988, prior to which
he lived and worked as an art teacher and graphic artist in Hungary,
France, Holland and Austria.
He specializes in
cuts and engravings. Within this realm his forte is Lino-cut/
Monotype creations. He uses gentle, harmonious forms and lines,
boldly exploring the many possibilities that these two techniques
have to offer. He has also added hyper-surrealism as his new style
to these motifs, this gives more depth and interpretive freedom to
his work. |
